Privacy statement
This statement covers aeositefix.com and the current free AEO SiteFix desktop application. Premium is not available for purchase yet. If we introduce accounts, payments or other processing, we will update this statement before those features are offered.
Who is responsible and how to contact us
Gecko Art Studio, Sweden, is responsible for the personal data processing described here. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email support@geckoartstudio.com.
When you use the browser audit
We receive the website address and up to three search topics you enter. Our hosting server fetches the homepage and analyses its publicly available HTML, page text and metadata. Public pages can contain personal data, such as names or contact details. The result is returned to your browser. This processing takes place on our server, not solely on your device. Submit only public website addresses and avoid confidential or sensitive information in the topics.
The audit application processes submitted data and page content in server memory. It does not save audit reports to a server-side report library or database. Results and edits remain in the open page until you leave or reload it. Downloaded or printed reports remain under your control until you delete them. Website addresses can also appear in page URLs, browser history and hosting access logs.
Cookies and browser storage
The aeo_session cookie contains a randomly generated session identifier and a signature. It expires after one hour and supports request limits and abuse prevention; it is not an advertising identifier. Request counts are held in server memory. Expired counting records are removed when another audit request is handled, or when the server process restarts.
When you choose a language, the app stores that choice under aeositefix-language in your browser’s local storage. It has no automatic expiry. You can remove it and the session cookie through your browser’s site-data settings. Blocking the session cookie may affect the audit service. The supplied app contains no advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts.
Hosting, logs and international processing
The website is hosted by hosting.com (formerly A2 Hosting) in Texas, USA. Visiting the site, downloading the app and using the online audit sends connection information, and any submitted audit data, to that hosting environment. Hosting and network providers process technical information needed to deliver the service. Hosting access or security logs may include IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, browser information and error details.
We are confirming the exact hosting-log retention periods and the data-processing and international-transfer terms applicable to this hosting account with hosting.com. Its general privacy information is linked below. We will update this section with the account-specific details when confirmed; we do not currently state a fixed log-deletion period or claim that a particular transfer safeguard has been verified for this account.
When you use the free desktop app
The desktop audit engine runs on your Windows computer and connects directly to the websites you choose to audit. Those websites and their embedded services may receive your IP address and normal browser requests; their own privacy practices apply. The desktop audit does not send its reports to an AEO SiteFix report service. Internet access is still needed to fetch website content.
The desktop app creates temporary reports and a browser profile under your Windows user account. It attempts to remove session files when it closes normally. A crash or interrupted shutdown may leave files behind. Exported PDFs, XML sitemaps and other saved reports stay on your device until you delete them.
When you contact us
If you email support@geckoartstudio.com, we receive your email address, message and any name, attachments or other details you choose to provide. Email delivery also involves email service providers. We use this information to answer your request. Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
We retain support correspondence while handling your request and any related follow-up, and only for as long as needed for those purposes, a specific dispute or an applicable legal retention obligation. You can ask us about retention or request deletion using the contact address above.
Purposes and legal grounds
We rely on our legitimate interests in providing the free audit requested by visitors, protecting the service against abuse and responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where processing is required to comply with a legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c) applies. Providing audit details or contacting support is voluntary; without the relevant details we cannot perform that audit or answer that enquiry.
Recipients and other websites
Data is processed by the hosting, network and email providers involved in the relevant activity. Audited websites receive requests for their public content. We may disclose information where the law requires it. Links to other Gecko Art Studio projects and external websites lead to separate services with their own privacy information. The free app has no checkout, and its audit service does not request payment details. Audit content is not sent to an external generative-AI service.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Data portability applies where its legal conditions are met. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Contact support@geckoartstudio.com; we may need proportionate information to verify your request. The audit does not make decisions about people that have legal or similarly significant effects.
You may complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), or the supervisory authority where you live or work in the EU/EEA.
Changes to this statement
We will update this page when our processing changes. The date above identifies the current revision.
